Michele Haggar
Bay 2 Area Representative

I serve as the Program Services Coordinator for Strategic Workforce and Development Division and as the Classified Senate President at Skyline Colllege. I earned a a Post-Secondary Teaching Certificate in Reading, MA in Educational Administration and English Literature from San Francisco State University. I have served the San Mateo County Community College District for a little over 13 years and held several positions within various departments that include Transfer, Career and Distance Education Services. My personal and professional experiences within education, both as a student and as an educator, span 18+ years and what has always driven me to stay is the need to support students. They are the future change makers and I want to see that students, all students, especially from underrepresented communities have the resources they need to succeed. To do this I believe it is my responsibility to work closely with Classified Employees and leadership to ensure they feel supported. It takes all of us to work collaboratively so that we can make a significant impact on a student's ability to achieve and it is for this reason I come to work every day.
On a more personal note, I come from a culturally diverse community and family with roots in Eqypt, Lebanon, and France. I speak three other languages and I try to occupy my time with my family, volunteering, and participating in professional development opportunities.
